Job Summary
My client is looking for a detail-oriented professional to handle accounts payable and union payroll processing. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial transactions, compliance with union agreements, and timely payments. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience in construction payroll, and a solid understanding of accounts payable processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Process and submit weekly union payroll, ensuring compliance with union agreements and labor laws.
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required.
- Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- Communicate with union representatives regarding payroll matters.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closeout and reporting.
- Support audits and financial reporting as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in accounts payable and payroll processing, preferably in the construction industry.
- Experience handling union payroll and certified payroll reporting.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and union payroll regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
