AR/AP Manager

The AR/AP Manager is responsible for managing both the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions of the company. This position may delegate and oversee an accounting clerk or assistant. The AR/AP Manager coordinates with the Controller and the Sales Staff to ensure timely invoicing, collection, receiving purchase orders, and posting processing vendor invoices. A comprehensive understanding of accounting principles is essential.


Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Accounts Receivable Management
  • Generates and sends invoices to customers promptly after order has shipped
  • Resolve billing and customer credit issues
  • Ensuring that accounts receivable records are accurate and match the customer’s accounts
  • Working closely with the sales and customer service teams to resolve billing issues and improve the invoicing process
  1. Accounts Payable Management
  • Ensure vendor invoices are received and processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Oversee the reconciliation of accounts payable ledgers and resolve discrepancies
  • Recording payments in the accounting system.
  1. Credit/Collections
  • Monitor aging reports and manage the collection efforts to minimize overdue accounts
  • Prepare regular reports on receivables status and performance metrics
  • Evaluating and approving credit terms for new and existing customers, and managing credit limits
  • Collects on past due accounts by contacting customers to ensure timely payment
  1. Inventory Control
  • Process all inventory transactions including coil processing and adjustments
  • Administer inventory cycle counts and assist with reconciliation and adjustment
  1. Compliance
  • Confirm all sales order requirements including customer tax status, obtaining project information forms, and verifying account status before production is realized
  • Ensuring that all AR processes comply with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in AR/AP management or a similar role
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent Customer Service is a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Ability multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently is required
