Automation Technician

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing our fabrication processes.
Position Overview:
The Automation Technician will collaborate closely with the Maintenance and Production teams to ensure the safety, efficiency, and performance of our rebar fabrication processes. This role requires a strong background in electrical maintenance, a keen understanding of automation systems, and the ability to travel regionally to support multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities:

System Maintenance & Optimization: Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on automated systems and equipment involved in rebar fabrication. Implement improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.

Safety Compliance: Work with teams to ensure all automation systems comply with safety regulations and standards. Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

Technical Support: Provide on-site and remote technical support to address automation-related issues. Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical problems promptly to minimize downtime.

Collaboration: Partner with the Maintenance and Production teams to streamline processes and integrate new automation technologies. Participate in team meetings to discuss performance, issues, and improvements.

Regional Travel: Travel to various company facilities within the region to provide support, conduct inspections, and oversee system upgrades or installations.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system modifications, and repairs. Prepare detailed reports on system performance and issues.

Training & Support: Train plant personnel on the operation and maintenance of automation systems. Provide guidance and support to ensure proper use and adherence to best practices.
Qualifications:

Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Proven experience in electrical maintenance and automation systems, preferably within a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems, and industrial automation equipment.

Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues.

Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with team members, management, and external vendors.

Travel: Willingness to travel regionally to support multiple facilities and projects.
