Job Summary:
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of commercial ground-up construction projects. This role involves detailed quantity take-offs, subcontractor and supplier pricing coordination, scope development, and proposal preparation. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of construction means and methods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed cost estimates

• Perform quantity take-offs and develop pricing for labor, materials, and equipment

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals

• Identify project risks and opportunities in the preconstruction phase

• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and owners during the bidding and budgeting process

• Prepare and present comprehensive bid packages and cost breakdowns

• Maintain cost databases and historical records for future use

• Participate in value engineering exercises and pre-bid meetings as needed

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating, with a strong focus on ground-up projects

• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst, or similar)

• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes

• Excellent math, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (but not required with relevant experience)
