Position Overview:
Our client is looking for a skilled Machinist to join their growing team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for machining parts to precise specifications, ensuring top-quality results, and supporting a variety of operations to meet production needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine parts to specifications using tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
  • Calculate tolerances using mathematics and measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all basic machine tools and many specialized advanced tools for precision machining operations.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations.
  • Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machine work preparation.
  • Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
  • Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend improvements for efficiency and adaptability.
  • Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of CNC Lathe and milling machine experience.
  • Strong ability to calculate tolerances and use measuring instruments.
  • Experience with machine tools and precision machining operations.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of job-specific software such as AutoCAD and/or Gibbs Cam.
  • Industrial or Mechanical Experience.
  • 2-4 year Technical Degree or technical school training.
