Position Overview:
Our client is looking for a skilled Machinist to join their growing team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for machining parts to precise specifications, ensuring top-quality results, and supporting a variety of operations to meet production needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Machine parts to specifications using tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
- Calculate tolerances using mathematics and measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Measure, examine, and test completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all basic machine tools and many specialized advanced tools for precision machining operations.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations.
- Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machine work preparation.
- Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts.
- Collaborate with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
- Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend improvements for efficiency and adaptability.
- Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of CNC Lathe and milling machine experience.
- Strong ability to calculate tolerances and use measuring instruments.
- Experience with machine tools and precision machining operations.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of job-specific software such as AutoCAD and/or Gibbs Cam.
- Industrial or Mechanical Experience.
- 2-4 year Technical Degree or technical school training.
