Sales Engineer (Steel Joist & Deck)

Our client is searching for a Sales Engineer to join their growing team.

Basic job functions:

  • Maintain the highest service standards through professional, informative and responsive communications (written and verbal) with our internal and external customers.
  • Perform joist & deck estimates using estimating software program.
  • Develop strong partnerships with our Upper Midwest (SD, ND, MN, & WI) customers.
  • Work with the commercial team on devising and executing on a market strategy for Upper Midwest territory.
  • Develop and grow strong relationships with the Engineering community by attending local events and gatherings.
  • Be willing and able to travel.
  • Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week when required.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs with our client; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in reading architectural and structural drawings, project specifications, along with a general understanding of the construction process
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field
  • Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able and willing to get PE once requirements have been met

Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering
  • Experience in customer service and sales related roles
  • Proficiency with NuBid
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Willing to put in and move for future advancement opportunities
