Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in the preconstruction process, leading cost estimation efforts, analyzing project requirements, and developing accurate budgets for competitive bids and negotiated contracts. This position requires a deep understanding of commercial construction and strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of cost estimates, bid proposals, and budgets for various commercial and institutional construction projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate cost projections.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to assess scope and feasibility.
- Conduct quantity take-offs, cost breakdowns, and value engineering assessments.
- Negotiate and procure competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, material costs, and market conditions to enhance estimating accuracy.
- Assist in the development of preconstruction schedules and risk assessments.
- Participate in client presentations and bid reviews as needed.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably with a general contractor.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as OST, Bluebeam, or ProEst, as well as Excel and other relevant tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
