Traveling Superintendent – Light Industrial Construction

A well-established design-build general contractor headquartered in the Greater Chicago area is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to oversee the field execution of ground-up and interior buildout projects, typically in the light industrial, warehouse/distribution, and commercial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field operations on construction sites across various regions

• Coordinate all subcontractor activities and ensure work aligns with schedule and specifications

• Enforce safety standards and jobsite protocols in accordance with company and OSHA guidelines

• Conduct daily reports, progress tracking, and maintain communication with project managers

• Lead jobsite meetings and work closely with owners, inspectors, and consultants

• Maintain quality control, resolve field issues, and drive timely project delivery

• Travel to project sites and remain on location for project duration (lodging and per diem provided)

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial or industrial projects ($5M–$30M+)

• Strong background in tilt-wall, precast, steel structure, or concrete construction

• Excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities

• Comfortable with jobsite technology: Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Suite, etc.

• Willingness to travel extensively and manage out-of-town projects from start to finish

• OSHA 30 certification preferred

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
