Lead Internal Auditor

About the Role

The Lead Internal Auditor conducts financial, compliance, and operational audits to assess internal controls, ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley), and support organizational leaders with process improvements. This role collaborates with external auditors and applies data analytics to enhance audit methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate internal control design and effectiveness.
• Partner with external auditors on control assessments.
• Apply data analytics in audit processes.
• Present findings, recommend improvements, and monitor corrective actions.

What You Bring

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA, CIA, or CISA certification (preferred or in progress).

Experience & Skills:

• 4–7+ years in Public Accounting and/or Internal Audit (Big 4 preferred).
• Strong knowledge of internal auditing standards, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX 404 and related testing).
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with PCAOB regulations and external audit standards.
• Proficiency in data analytics and audit software (ACL preferred).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel ~20% (U.S. & Canada).
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• High ethical standards and discretion.
