Project Manager – Marine Construction
A well-established heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support marine, bridge, and waterfront infrastructure projects throughout the NYC metro and Newark, NJ markets. This is a field-oriented role requiring strong coordination between owners, subcontractors, field operations, and project leadership teams on complex public infrastructure work.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing heavy civil construction projects involving bridges, marine structures, foundations, concrete, structural steel, utilities, or transportation infrastructure. Candidates should be comfortable working directly on active job sites and managing multiple operational aspects of projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of heavy civil, bridge, and marine construction projects
- Coordinate field activities, subcontractors, suppliers, and project schedules
- Monitor project budgets, cost controls, forecasting, and change management
- Support procurement, subcontract administration, and material tracking
- Work closely with superintendents and field teams to maintain project production goals
- Lead project meetings with owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors
- Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract requirements
- Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, schedules, and daily reporting
- Assist with project planning, sequencing, and logistical coordination in active urban environments
- Support successful project closeout and turnover activities
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in construction project management within heavy civil, bridge, marine, or transportation infrastructure
- Experience managing field operations on public or private infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and project controls
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and self-perform crews preferred
- Knowledge of NYC/NJDOT, Port Authority, MTA, Army Corps, or other public agency work is a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred

Location
Projects are located throughout New York City and Newark, New Jersey. This position is primarily field-based and may require travel between active project sites.
