Job Title: Construction Superintendent – Multifamily
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio (Project-Based)
Company: Established Northeast Ohio General Contractor
Position Overview
A well-established general contractor with a strong presence across Northeast Ohio is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on a multifamily project in the Cincinnati market. This firm has a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality commercial and residential developments and is expanding its footprint into Southwest Ohio.
The Superintendent will be the on-site leader responsible for driving schedule, safety, quality, and subcontractor coordination from groundbreaking through project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site construction activities for a ground-up multifamily project
- Manage daily operations including subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff
- Maintain and enforce project schedule, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met
- Lead site safety efforts and ensure full compliance with OSHA standards and company policies
- Coordinate inspections, permits, and municipal requirements specific to the Cincinnati area
- Conduct regular subcontractor meetings and ensure clear communication across all trades
- Monitor quality control and ensure work is performed to plans and specifications
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers on budget tracking, change orders, and progress reporting
- Maintain detailed daily reports, logs, and site documentation
- Proactively identify and resolve field issues to keep the project on track
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a General Contractor
- Proven experience managing ground-up multifamily construction projects (garden-style, podium, or wrap preferred)
- Strong understanding of sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with project management and scheduling software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)
- Solid knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in Cincinnati full-time for the duration of the project
