Maintenance Technician

Prince George, VA

A Fortune 100 steel manufacturing company in Prince George, VA is hiring a Maintenance Technician to support production equipment, plant reliability, and day-to-day maintenance operations.



This is a hands-on maintenance role focused on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, basic electrical knowledge, and the flexibility to work rotating shifts.

Compensation/Benefits

Hourly Compensation: $43-48/hr

Estimated Annual Earnings: $95-115k + 15-25% profit-sharing bonus

Benefits package includes: medical, dental, vision, 401K match, tuition reimbursement, etc.

Schedule

Day Shift: 5:45 AM – 3:15 PM

Night Shift: 2:45 PM – 12:50 AM

Rotating shift environment

Occasional Saturdays may be required; Sundays are rare

Must have willingness to do both day and night shift to be considered for this position.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial production equipment
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
• Work on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
• Maintain motors, bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, and power transmission equipment
• Support 480V / 120V electrical troubleshooting and PLC-related equipment
• Read diagrams, manuals, schematics, and manufacturer specifications
• Assist with equipment installation, alignment, welding, fabrication, rigging, and lifting
• Work safely and communicate with production and maintenance teams

What We’re Looking For

• 2-year degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field

OR

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, bearings, conveyors, and gearboxes
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and on-call support as needed

Preferred Experience

• Multi-craft maintenance experience
• PLC troubleshooting familiarity
• Continuous line manufacturing experience
• Industrial manufacturing, steel, metals, packaging, paper, chemical, or building products experience
• Military maintenance backgrounds are encouraged to apply
