About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established general contractor with a strong track record in hospitality construction, is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead hotel renovation projects. This is an opportunity to join a growing, respected firm known for delivering high-quality renovations on tight timelines while properties remain operational.
The Role
As Traveling Superintendent, you will oversee all field operations for hotel renovation projects from mobilization through closeout, working directly with ownership groups, hotel operations teams, and project management to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, on budget, and to brand standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day field operations for hotel renovation projects, including guest room, corridor, lobby, and back-of-house scopes
- Coordinate closely with hotel operations/management to minimize disruption to guests and ongoing hotel operations
- Enforce project schedules, sequencing, and phasing plans across occupied and unoccupied areas
- Supervise subcontractors and self-perform crews, ensuring quality control and adherence to brand/PIP (Property Improvement Plan) standards
- Maintain jobsite safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Manage material logistics, deliveries, and staging in space-constrained hotel environments
- Conduct regular progress meetings with ownership, PM teams, and hotel staff
- Travel extensively to support projects across multiple markets (per diem/travel package provided)
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Superintendent, with a focus on hotel renovation/repositioning projects
- Familiarity with major hotel brand standards and PIP requirements (Marriott, Hilton, IHG, or similar)
- Proven ability to manage occupied-property renovations with minimal guest disruption
- Strong understanding of scheduling, sequencing, and phased construction in live environments
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating between GC, ownership, and hotel operations teams
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
