Our client is a well-established, family-owned commercial general contractor with more than 90 years of experience building throughout Ohio. They are looking for a Project Engineer to join their Columbus team and support a variety of commercial construction projects.

The company works across higher education, K-12, healthcare, municipal/public, industrial, office, retail, and other commercial markets, providing strong exposure to different project types and opportunities for long-term growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers.
• Assist with scheduling, procurement, project meetings, and closeout.
• Help track project progress, costs, and outstanding action items.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Commercial construction experience through a full-time role, internship, or co-op preferred.
• General contractor or construction management experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, drawings, schedules, and construction documentation.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Desire to grow into increased project-management responsibility.
