Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Rolling Mill / Melt Shop

We are seeking two Industrial Maintenance Mechanics for a Fortune 150 industrial manufacturer in Sedalia, MO: one Rolling Mill Mechanic and one Melt Shop Mechanic.

These roles support production operations through mechanical troubleshooting, equipment repairs and preventive maintenance. The Rolling Mill opening emphasizes bearings, gears and hydraulics. The Melt Shop opening emphasizes welding, fabrication and hydraulics.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial mechanical equipment to support safe, reliable production.
• Rolling Mill: Diagnose and repair bearings, gears, gearboxes, mechanical drives and hydraulic systems.
• Melt Shop: Perform equipment welding and fabrication repairs while troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic systems.
• Maintain pumps, pneumatic equipment and material handling systems.
• Read mechanical schematics and prints for equipment installation, maintenance and repairs.
• Respond to breakdowns, complete preventive maintenance and help resolve recurring equipment problems.
• Work closely with production crews and maintenance teammates.
• Uphold safety procedures, safe work practices and housekeeping standards.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Practical knowledge of mechanical principles and hands-on equipment troubleshooting.
• Rolling Mill candidates: Strong mechanical repair experience with bearings, gears and hydraulics.
• Melt Shop candidates: Strong welding, fabrication and hydraulic maintenance experience.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends and scheduled or unscheduled overtime.
• Clear communication, initiative, dependability and the ability to work effectively with a team.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred:

• Rolling mill, melt shop, steel mill, foundry or other heavy industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience with material handling systems, pneumatics, compressors, pumps and dust control equipment.
• Overhead crane maintenance and repair experience.
• Ability to interpret mechanical prints and schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting or upgrading hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical powertrain systems.

Compensation & Schedule

• Compensation: $40–$45 per hour, based on experience.
• Bonus: Production/pay-for-performance bonuses and profit sharing.
• Schedule: 4-on, 4-off rotation with 12-hour day/night shifts. Includes weekends and scheduled or unscheduled overtime.
