Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their growing preconstruction team. The ideal candidate has strong estimating experience, exceptional attention to detail, and hands-on expertise with RSMeans and 4Clicks estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial and federal construction projects.
• Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and final bid estimates.
• Utilize RSMeans cost databases and 4Clicks estimating software to produce accurate pricing.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify project scope and potential risks.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Prepare bid packages, scopes of work, and estimate summaries.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, architects, and owners during preconstruction.
• Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Maintain current knowledge of market pricing, labor trends, and material costs.
• Support change order pricing and project cost analysis as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Required experience using RSMeans and 4Clicks estimating software.
• Experience estimating federal, healthcare, institutional, commercial, or industrial construction projects is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and building systems.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Revu.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates while meeting tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• Federal construction experience (USACE, NAVFAC, VA, GSA, or DoD projects)
• Design-build and negotiated project delivery
• Value engineering and conceptual budgeting
• Cost modeling throughout all phases of design
• Experience with CSI MasterFormat and federal specifications
